How to change network type in the windows Registry
If you see that the network type is Public in the Network and Sharing Center like below and you need to change this follow the easy to follow instructions below:
Then open Regedit and browse to the following parent key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles\ Open the network profile that you have to change and modify the "Category" value: 0 = Public 1 = Private 2 = domain
